“Some places are beautiful in photographs, but when you actually stand there, you realise that no camera can capture the real beauty.”
That is exactly how I felt on our Havelock Island honeymoon trip.
After reaching Havelock Island, we were excited to finally explore one of the most beautiful destinations in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Our tour manager took us to our allotted stay, NK Eco Resort, where we checked in, refreshed ourselves and settled down for a while.
Our tour manager then briefed us about the plan for the day. We were asked to be ready by around 10–11 AM, as our first day in Havelock was going to be all about beaches, photography, local food and, of course, a romantic evening.

The moment we reached the beach, we were mesmerized by the scenery. The combination of turquoise-blue water, soft white sand, lush green trees, and the peaceful surroundings made it feel like we had stepped into a postcard.
We naturally started taking pictures on our mobile phones. But there was one problem—no matter how many pictures we took, the photographs somehow failed to capture the actual beauty we were experiencing.
That was when our cab driver came to the rescue.
Luckily, our driver was also a part-time photographer. He noticed that we were struggling to capture good memories and offered to help us. He started suggesting different poses and angles and showed us how to stand against the beach and trees to make the pictures more interesting.
What started as a simple beach visit slowly turned into an unexpected photoshoot.
His local knowledge and photography skills helped us capture some wonderful honeymoon memories. Sometimes, having someone who knows the place well can make such a big difference to a trip.
Compared with some of the busier beaches in Havelock, Kalapathar felt peaceful and refreshing. We spent quality time walking around, enjoying the sea breeze, clicking pictures and simply taking in the surroundings.
One thing I realized during this trip was that travel photographs can never completely capture the feeling of actually being there.
The sound of the waves, the cool breeze, the sunlight reflecting on the turquoise water and the greenery surrounding the beach were experiences that our mobile camera could only partially record.
After spending a wonderful morning at Kalapathar Beach, we headed back to our resort.
Lunch and a Short Rest at NK Eco Resort
By the time we returned, we were ready for lunch. We had our meal at the resort and took some rest before heading out again.
Our next destination was the much awaited Radhanagar Beach.
We planned to leave around 3 PM, which gave us enough time to relax and recharge after the morning's beach exploration.
Little did we know that the second half of the day was going to be even more spectacular.
The moment we arrived, my first reaction was simply:
“Oh my God!”
The beach was spectacular.
There were plenty of tourists enjoying the afternoon, but the natural beauty of the place immediately caught our attention. The combination of white sand, turquoise water, tropical trees and the vast blue sky created a picture-perfect landscape.
Remember our cab driver from the morning?
He had already helped us capture some beautiful photographs at Kalapathar Beach. He also suggested that we arrange a proper photoshoot at Radhanagar Beach.
Since this was our honeymoon trip, we thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to create some professional memories.
We were introduced to a local photographer, discussed the available photoshoot packages and negotiated the price. Eventually, we agreed on a package that suited us and started our photoshoot.
The photographer knew exactly how to use the beach scenery. From walking shots to couple poses and candid moments, he guided us throughout the session.
The combination of the white sand, blue-green sea and golden afternoon light made almost every frame look beautiful.
It was not just a photoshoot it became one of the most enjoyable moments of our Havelock Island trip.
Since we were travelling to the Andaman Islands, trying local seafood was naturally part of the experience.
We also spent some time shopping for souvenirs for our family. Picking up small travel memories for family members is something we always enjoy because they become little reminders of the places we have visited.
Later at night, we headed to another resort where the dinner had been arranged in an open-air setting.
After spending an entire day surrounded by beaches, sunshine and tourists, the atmosphere suddenly became completely different.
The soft candlelight, romantic ambience, background music and the pleasant sound of the sea waves created a beautiful setting for a honeymoon dinner.
Sitting together under the night sky and listening to the waves after an exciting day of exploring Havelock Island felt incredibly special.
It was the perfect ending to our first day.
Havelock Island Day 1: A Day Full of Memories
Our Day 1 in Havelock Island turned out to be much more than simply visiting two beaches.
From the peaceful beauty of Kalapathar Beach to the breathtaking scenery of Radhanagar Beach, from an unexpected photoshoot with our cab driver to professional honeymoon photographs, seafood, souvenir shopping and finally a romantic candlelight dinner—we experienced a little bit of everything.
If you are planning a honeymoon in Andaman, I would definitely recommend keeping at least one full day exploring Havelock Island's beaches. Don't rush from one attraction to another. Give yourself enough time to sit by the beach, walk along the shore, enjoy the sunset and create memories.
Because sometimes the best travel moments are not the ones you planned—they are the unexpected moments that become your favourite memories.
Day 2 was planned around another exciting activity in the morning, followed by our journey towards Neil Island.
And as we soon discovered, Neil Island had its own unique charm waiting for us
