How to Reach Dirang From Guwahati with a Public Shared Sumo (Affordable Way To Travel):
This time, we decided to travel the same manner the locals do, by taking a public shared Sumo from Guwahati. This is one of the most affordable forms of travel to reach Dirang and provides an adventurous travel experience.Route Taken:
Guwahati → Udalguri → Bhairabkunda → Balemu → Kalaktang → Shergaon → Rupa →Bomdila→ Dirang✔️ ILP (Inner Line Permit) Check was done at Balemu Gate
✔️ The journey is long (approx. 8–10 hours), but incredibly scenic
✔️ Expect lush green forests, mountain roads, and river views throughout
This route is less crowded and gives you a raw glimpse of Northeast India’s beauty.

We stayed at Khowti Homestay for 2 days, and honestly, it felt like home away from home.- Price: ₹1500 per day
